Four Winds Cellars sources fruit from the renowned Six Mile Vineyards. Nestled in the Sierra Foothills at an elevation of 1800 feet, the 100-acre vineyard boasts an impressive diversity in terrain and a total of 9 different estate varietals. Originally planted in 1989, the combination of climate and geography that the French call “terroir” has enabled the vineyards to produce outstanding wines of incredible quality and balance. From the cool-loving Chardonnay to the heat-seeking Sangiovese, dozens of micro-appellations exist within the estate. Each varietal sourced is specially selected to highlight unique soils, elevations, and exposure. As a result, our red varietals demonstrate deep, earthy, Burgundian undertones, while our whites show a lovely, crisp, fruit-driven quality.

As the largest vineyards in Calaveras County, Six Mile Vineyards not only supports the needs of our own winery, but for years has sold fruit to the renowned Carneros Creek, Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars, and Rodney Strong wineries. Six Mile Vineyards have become synonymous with Sierra Foothill excellence, and are noted for producing some of the highest quality fruit in the region.
